Libros For All

In a country where English is widely spoken, Libros for All’s mission is to establish a connection to Latin heritage and culture through Spanish literature. Seeing the lack of a library in Escuela Argentina en Nueva York (EANY) inhibiting the access for people to learn and connect with their culture made me want to increase access to books to places that are lacking it. We will be collecting book donations and raising money to give Spanish books to communities or organizations that are lacking them. By making Spanish literature more easily accessible and engaging, we hope to instill a love for reading that strengthens our ties to the Spanish language and traditions. This love for reading can deepen their cultural understanding and help them see how Latin Americans perceive the world.  This project is driven by a passion to make sure everyone has the opportunity to connect with their roots and maintain their cultural identity through reading. Learning more about this culture fosters appreciation for not only Latin American culture, but all cultures around the world.
